A message from Santa.

A friend of mine posted a website where you could personalize a message from Santa to your child.  They are adorable.  So here is Kiley's message from Santa Clause.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Well the countdown is on and there are only 15 days until Christmas.  I can't believe it is already here.  I wouldn't say that I am completely in the spirit just yet, but I am getting there.  Kiley is super excited and wants to open the presents that are already under the tree very badly.  My mom told her that she can't open them until Christmas.  So everyday she starts off her morning saying "it's Christmas!".  So then we had to explain the the difference between Christmas TIME and Christmas DAY!  So now she says "it's Christmas" in a happy voice and then "time.." in a bummed out tone.  She is so silly.  We wish so bad that Chris could be home with us for the Holidays but such is the job I suppose.  Kiley and I got him a Christmas box together so that he could have something to open to.  She tried to fit herself into it.
Kiley's list is hard to follow.  She doesn't even know where to start with all the things she wants.  She wants it all!!  She loves all things girly.  Make-up, princesses, everything.  So.. Santa has already finished with Kiley's gifts. Some of them are..

There is lots more, these are just the ones at the top of my head right now.  I think she will love them.  I can't wait to play with that dollhouse!  Merry Christmas!

The new truck!

A few months before Chris deployed our old Honda Civic died on us.  We became a one car family.  Which wasn't fun.  Chris had traded his Jeep Grand Cherokee  in on our new Honda Accord.  I drive it and he got the Civic.  (The car that I got when I was 16)  So, even though he is in Afghanistan, Chris was doing some car shopping for himself.  He found this Tahoe and fell in love with it.  And he deserves it so..  we got it!  I drove to Auburn to pick it up.  It is very big and very different of a drive from my car.  But she is the newest member of our family.  I named her Lacey.  Haha!  I know Chris can't wait to come home and drive it.

Kiley's Christmas Pictures.

I thought I would put all of Kiley's Christmas pictures up in case some of you don't have a Facebook.  The photographer is Jamie Erwin and she is great!!

Our first blog post!

Hello to those who are reading this, excuse the progress.  I am learning as I go.  And the very first post is dedicated to what is the main focus of our lives right now.  POTTY TRAINING!!  Kiley has been very resistant to do it, and all of the methods have failed.  She is quite stubborn.  I googled and googled until I finally found a book called "Potty Bootcamp".  It stated that families who follow the program will have their child potty trained within 4-5 days.  And even more unbelievable they claimed that 90% of children will "initiate" themselves on the very first day.  (Initiate was the book's term for deciding that they need to use the bathroom on their own and then doing so.)  I was skeptical of this, but it had lots of positive ratings on Amazon.  So I bought it.  And I have to say, that it works!!  I could not believe that night when Kiley said "I'm gonna pee"  and SHE DID IT!!  So I would definitely recommend the book to people.

Here is Kiley in her big girl panties!!  The book says to offer big elaborate gifts when they finally use the potty.  But, candy canes have worked for us.  We are on day 3 and it is going better then I ever thought it would.  She is very proud of herself and so am I!

My photo
Fort Campbell, Kentucky
My name is Allison Howard. I have been married to my best friend Chris for over 3 years now. And on April 1, 2008, our sweet little Kiley came along. She is our pride and joy and she is also a little crazy! We are an ARMY family. We were stationed at Fort Bragg, NC but it February 2010 we were sent to Fort Campbell, KY. Chris is currently in Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne and we miss him dearly. There is no real purpose to this blog. Just to let our friends and family keep up to date with what we are up to!
