30 Day Military Challenge: Day 12

Day 12 – post a picture of a book you are reading/have
read b/c of your s/o being in the military and tell how it has helped you.
The show Army Wives is based on this book
I don't know that this book really helped me in any way.  But, I did read it because my husband is in the Army.  I read it the first time when we were stationed at Fort Bragg.  The book is a true story that is also based on Fort Bragg.  It is a very interesting read.  But be careful if you are an "Army Wives" fan because it does give some spoilers.  :)

Life is good.

Are you ever just in one of those moods when every thing is great?!  I have been in one of those for the last few days.  I have just been reminded lately over and over that I am a very luck girl and that I have been blessed with so much!  A constant good mood is a nice thing.  Maybe its the fact that my sweet husband will be here for R&R very shortly or maybe I'm just happy.  I don't know but I am all smiles! I hope that this new week brings smiles to all of you as well!  :)

The big 3!!

Miss Kiley is just a few short days away from turning 3 years old.  I still have no idea how this happened.  This is the first year that she cared enough to choose the theme of her party!!  And what did she choose??..
A Cinderella birthday party!
Cinderella it is!  This was not a surprising choice as Kiley is her biggest fan.  I love the fact that I have a girly girl! She is so excited about this party and is talking about it every day!!

Kiley's best present that she will be getting this year is her daddy!!  Chris specifically chose this date to come home for his leave so that he could be here for her birthday.  So sweet.  We can't wait to all celebrate another year together!  Yay.  There is so much exciting stuff coming up.

April 1, 2010
So glad that we will have another family picture from this April 1st.  We have been so blessed with our sweet girl!  Can't believe its been 3 years.  Maybe it's time for another one soon..  Maybe?  :)

Here comes the R&R craze

Well now that we only have a little less then two weeks until Chris gets here, I am starting to stress.  Not about him coming, but about trying to get everything ready for him coming!  I am sure he couldn't care less about all the things that I have to make perfect.  Like the house has to be spotless, I need to have our cars detailed, all of his clothes clean and folded.  And on top of the normal tasks to prepare, I am also having Kiley's 3rd birthday party about two days after he is supposed to arrive.  And the day after that we are going to the beach for a week.  So really, its R&R/birthday party planning/pre-vacation jitters all rolled into one!  On the other hand, I was hoping that all the tasks would make the time speed up, but that really hasn't happened either.  The days are still dragging by.  It will be here soon though, and we can't wait!  Enjoy your Tuesday everyone, we have lots to do!  :)

Every penny counts

I bought this huge water jug (I poured the water out) for one reason.  I bought it to put change in.  It is a really big jug.  So when it is full, there should be a nice "chunk of change" inside of it.  It is my own personal savings account.  I have decided that with this money, I am going to buy myself a Canon rebel t2i.  Now the contents of this jug might not equal up to the price.  But it should help!  I just gathered all the change I could find.  I got this from the bottom of my purse and the car.  All of it totaled up to $7.55. (Which I kinda thought was a lot just to have thrown around places.)  The $7.55 looks like barely anything in my enormous jug..  so just imagine when it is full.  Haha, it's kinda of silly, but I'm taking back to piggy bank days.  As I am sure you will be concerned, I will post update pictures of the jug every so often to keep people in the know!

30 Day Military Challenge: Day 3

So I will have to go with no, I did not see us being together at that time.

The days are dragging by..

This deployment has been going by quicker then I thought that it would.  But with Chris coming home for leave in just a couple weeks.  The time seems to have stopped.  Kiley and I are so excited to have him back.  He has also said that he is very much in need of a break.  Poor guy.  Can you imagine..  7 months without a day off?  He will be here for Kiley's 3rd birthday.  Kiley keeps telling people "my daddy is going to march home for my birthday".  She understands the whole situation much more then I thought she would.  I think sometimes we don't give kids all the credit that they deserve.  Kiley is so observant, and she is very good at reading other people.  So she knows just when I need a hug or an "I love you."  Chris hasn't seen her since August, and I just know that he is going to be blown away by how much she has grown!

The Lifetime network has come out with a show called "Coming Home".  It is about soldiers coming home and surprising their family members.  Of course I had to watch this, and of course I cried.  It's very sweet though.  Happy tears.
Little girl from "Coming Home"
Watching this show however did make me ask myself the question..  Should I surprise Kiley the day Chris comes home?  Or should I brace her for it?  I still haven't come up with an answer yet.  Chris and I are kind of leaning towards a surprise for her.  I also don't want to startle her with all the big surprises.  I think she should be fine because she talks to Chris frequently and knows that he is coming soon.  We just can't wait for his arrival.

Yea.. sorry.

So It's been a while.  But in a few short days, this will be a beautiful blog!!  I thought I would go ahead and do one last post while it still ugly!  Haha.  Well the Cottontails arts and crafts show was this weekend.  I promised myself that I was not going to go..  but you guessed it.  I went!  And  I am sure glad that I did!  Maybe not Chris, but definitely me!  Got lots of adorable clothes for Kiley.  She is very girly and loves dresses and pretty things.  It also has inspired me to have the best dressed child that I can!  I have been finding great kids clothing on the internet ever since.  YAY!  Here are a few of Kiley's new things.
